“I paint in a detached garage studio a short walk from Ocean Beach in San Diego. Running a surf shop taught me to read water and light, and to work fast while the conditions are right. I drop saturated washes onto wet paper, let them spread into the white, flick splatters across the sheet and finish with a handful of loose ink strokes.”
