About Tessa

During a study abroad year in Barcelona, a chance meeting with a street artist shifted Tessa Whitmore’s thinking. The focus had been traditional landscapes, but watching textures built with unconventional tools opened new doors. Whitmore, a former postal worker, studied at the Barcelona Academy of Art and works in Austin, Texas.

Whitmore’s impressionist style picks up abstract layering in a set of cheerful Halloween scenes. A caped fox and two costumed cats gather around a jack-o’-lantern, a fox in a witch’s hat shares the moonlight with a floating ghost bunny, and round-eyed ghosts fill a forest clearing. See the canvases below, each printed on matte canvas and stretched over solid wood.
