“Moving back to Chicago in 2019 after college in Milwaukee made me notice how the skyline changes throughout the day. I quit selling condos downtown to paint the city's moods instead. My impressionist cityscapes try to capture Chicago's energy between seasons.”
Ryan Mitchell moved back to Chicago, Illinois, in 2019 after college in Milwaukee and began noticing how the skyline shifts through the day. Mitchell left a job selling condos downtown to paint those changing moods. The former real estate agent also completed a post-baccalaureate program in studio art.
Every canvas here is a Chicago scene, painted in an impressionist style with abstract color. Lake Shore Drive curves beneath a peach and lavender sky. The Willis Tower and John Hancock Center rise through a rainbow gradient, and the Wrigley Building glows gold above the Chicago River at twilight. Below are all of Mitchell’s canvases in our shop, ready to hang.
