“I paint in a narrow studio off a quiet patio in Seville, with laundry drying on the lines overhead. Sewing flamenco costumes taught me how color moves, folds and softens with every turn of the body. I set mustard beside blush in curving, gentle forms, then brush them back lightly until they feel like cotton left out in the Mediterranean sun.”
