“Working the North Sea fishing boats for eight years taught me about shifting light and weather patterns. When I moved back to Berlin in 2019, I started translating those maritime color memories into abstract landscapes that blur the line between sea and sky.”

About Jonathan

Before painting, Jonathan Müller was a fishing boat captain, and eight years on the North Sea built a feel for shifting light and weather. Since moving back to Berlin, Germany, in 2019, Müller has turned those sea colors into abstract landscapes where water and sky run together. Müller studied art history but is a self-taught painter.

Müller’s work sits between impressionism and abstraction, often in beige, soft blue and silver. The best sellers wander across Europe: the Rheinturm rising over the Rhine in Düsseldorf, Bologna’s medieval towers stacked in ochre, the Promenade des Anglais curving along Nice and the Thessaloniki waterfront in bands of sunset color.
