About Ethan

A Polish uncle’s woodworking shop taught Ethan Kowalski about grain and texture well before painting entered the picture. The smell of sawdust is still a reminder of why working by hand matters, even with different tools now. Kowalski, a former cabinet maker who started at RISD and finished elsewhere, works in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Kowalski pairs impressionism with abstraction, and the best sellers are European waterfronts at golden hour and dusk. Dublin’s Ha’penny Bridge arches over the Liffey, painted boats line Copenhagen’s Nyhavn, the Kremlin glows above the Moscow River and Dubrovnik’s walls curve around the Adriatic. Orange and blue do much of the talking. Below are the Kowalski prints our customers choose most.
