About Emily

Measuring lumber turned out to be good training for Emily Sorensen. After years building houses, the former carpenter wanted to make something purely for beauty, and that precision now guides color mixing and composition. Sorensen also spent two years in art school and paints in Des Moines, Iowa.

Impressionism with abstract touches shapes the work, and most scenes come from Europe. White buildings in Lindos climb toward the ancient acropolis on Rhodes. Peach facades curve along the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, and the golden domes of Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Saviour catch the last light. Sorensen’s best-selling canvases are below, each one ready to hang.
