Elle Montgomery came to painting from the stage. Years of performing Shakespeare in regional theaters, and a close eye on stage lighting, revealed the geometric patterns that now anchor the work. Montgomery holds a BFA from the University of Michigan and is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, where the discipline of theater still shapes each composition.
