“I paint in a bright room above a hardware store in downtown Wilmington, close to the Cape Fear River. Drafting buildings for eight years taught me about structure, and now I enjoy letting it dissolve. I start with a clear horizon line, then soften it with wide brush strokes and palette knife layers until sky and sea become calm misty bands with one teal accent.”
