About Dante

Dante Rivas spent years crunching numbers through tax season before mixing colors instead. The spark came in 2002, when an uncle’s small gallery in Guadalajara opened a door to painting. Self-taught, the artist works in Monterrey, Mexico, splitting time between abstract landscapes and impressionist street scenes from the neighborhood.

Those impressionist and abstract modes meet in the best sellers, which stay close to Mexico’s coasts and colonial towns. Guadalajara Cathedral’s twin spires catch the last light, palms lean over Mazatlán’s Golden Zone, a Tulum jungle path leads to a Mayan temple and the Punta Cancún lighthouse stands against storm clouds. Below are the artist’s top canvases in our shop, printed on matte canvas over solid wood.
