Colin Mayfield
“I paint in a bright studio in Scottsdale where the desert light changes every hour. Working at a jeweler's bench taught me patience and how a small touch of gold can carry a whole piece. I sweep colour on with wide palette knives, layer translucent glazes, let drips run, and leave the subject loosely suggested inside the texture.”
