“I work in a converted farmhouse kitchen outside Roanoke, with the Blue Ridge visible from my easel. Years as a park ranger taught me to notice small wildflowers most hikers walk past. I wet the paper generously and drop in bright petal colors and soft violets, letting them soak and spread until the edges look like a meadow after rain.”
